There are so many lakes in northern California that support good populations of trout, I can’t name them all ….. so I’ll name a few: Baum Lake is a good winter and spring time fishery for browns and rainbow trout,(cabin fever release!!) Lewiston Lake, is an excellent spring time fishery for trophy size trout, Keswick Reservoir, also produces “trophy” size trout and a fun experience.
We fish out of boats only on the bigger lakes and boats, float tubes and wade the smaller lakes for some truly “trophy” size brown and rainbow trout.
At times there is excellent dry fly fishing but mostly the nymphing and streamer fishing is the game. These lake fly fishing trips are great times for small groups to enjoy a fresh fly fishing outing and many more times than not ….. some Great fishing!
