Northern
California Fly Fishing
Bob
Norman has been a licensed,
professional fly fishing guide and instructor for the past
31 years. During that time, he has acquired an extensive,
first hand knowledge for Northern California's finest "wild"
Trout fisheries. The primary waters guided for Trout include
the Fall River, Hat Creek, Pit River,
McCloud River, Upper Sacramento River
and Lower Sacramento River, plus several lakes
and reservoirs in the northstate.
Having fished
the Fall River and Hat Creek since the mid
70's, Bob's experience on these famed western waters is
one of his greatest assets. An avid fly tier, he has developed
several very effective Stillwater and Spring
Creek fly patterns. Many are sold commercially in
fly shops all over the country.
Riverbend
Adventures is not a one dimensional guide service, fishing
a variety of waters from Stillwater and Spring
Creeks to Freestone Waters, using many
different techniques to catch fish and improve your angling
skills. A day on the water will be a learning, memorable
and fun day!
We wade-fish
primarily for Steelhead and swing traditional wet flies,
or skate dry flies on the surface for that breath-stopping
grab that Steelies do so well! Dead-drifting nymphs on floating
lines can be another deadly method we practice.
Spey Fishing:
Over the past several years, there has been a tremendous
interest in learning how to Spey Fish for Steelhead.
Fishermen should not hesitate to bring their rods, as the
Trinity River has many excellent Spey runs
throughout. If you have interest in learning a fun, new
way to fish for Steelhead, we can teach a couple of basic
Spey Casts to get you started, and we will
even supply the rods!
We look forward
to spending time on the water with you.
